Ger Minihan heads up our personal training service, and has over 9 years experience in this field. PT Express was set up with the aim of teaching people the art of fitness. He says “There is not just one way to achieve your goal, there are several – it’s just about educating yourself on the right way for you”. Meet Ger for a FREE consultation and he can evaluate what’s needed, then design a unique lifestyle-changing program.

Just some of the things Ger could cover include:- Structural balance assessment, posture analysis and correction, weight loss programming, lean muscle building, kettlebell training, sports specific training, nutritional planning – progressive assessment for lasting results!
The approach is simple:

ASSESS (Free Consultation) – A sit down with Ger to discover where are the areas of your life which are preventing you from achieving the goal you wish. You will be given an in depth system of questionnaires covering everything from dietary to social support to training history. This will give Ger the information he needs to develop and individualize a specific program.

APPLY yourself to the program. It will cover a wide range of types of training from kettlebell for weight loss to bodybuilding to sport specific. Ger will make sure he tailors it to suit you and the goal you have in mind.

ACHIEVEthe results.

Testimonials

My personal training experience with Ger at Naas Health & Fitness.
I started training with Ger in Oct 2009. My goals where very specific, as I needed to increase speed and explosive power. In Tae Kwon -do you need to execute a kick or punch so fast that you have to hit the person before they have realised you have hit them! I knew the areas I needed to work on. Having discussed my plan and competition dates Ger devised a plan for me. After a few weeks I could not believe how my performance had improved.
Ger offered such skill and knowledge, whereby I can now take safer steps to reaching my goal.
I would like to thank Ger for helping me in preparation for the European championships, in becoming bronze medallist for Ireland.
“If you always put a limit on everything you do, physical or anything else. It will spread into your work and into your life. There are no limits. There are only plateaus, and you must not stay there, you must go beyond them.” (Bruce Lee)

Hi my name is Marc Gibbs I’m 42 years old. I’ve been attending gyms over a period of twenty years. I have always struggled with my weight and have tried every diet and training method under the sun. When I met Ger from pt express I was sixteen and half stone a 36inch waist tight and extra large top. I am now 32 inch waist and medium top – it’s great. Ger’s motivational skills and very different training techniques have helped me to achieve my goals and a new me. Thanks a million Ger!

Goal -Rehab from low back surgery!
Having suffered from chronic lower back pain for the past 10 years I doubted that I would ever be able to lead an active life again. I had five years of surgeries and each of them took a toll on both my physical and mental health. There just did not seem to be a solution that would improve my mobility and flexibility and despite spinal fusion and disectomies nothing worked. I tried everything from massage to acupuncture to physiotherapy and whilst these treatments kept me moving I was not making progress.
I have a great physiotherapist, David Gardiner, and on his advice I took back control of my medical treatment and said no to further surgery. I wanted one year where I could try exercise in an effort to improve mobility and that year is this year, 2010. (I would stress that anyone recovering from surgery or back pain should not undertake an exercise program without consulting a chartered physiotherapist).
Enter Ger and his personal training. Ger is a professional and I knew I was in safe hands when he explained that he would have to talk to my physiotherapist before taking me on to teach me how to work muscles that would improve my posture and mobility. Together they worked out a plan of what I could or could not try. Ger took me under his wing and started me on a supervised training program. At the time when I started training with Ger I walked with the help of two walking sticks and I was unable to straighten up, my back constantly in a locked position and bent over so that I was looking towards the floor. I am now 8 weeks into a program and the change has been drastic. I have been able to straighten my posture and following Ger’s physical and nutritional program has improved my life to no end. I am sleeping better and although I still have constant pain I am able to block it out and overcome that obstacle. I attend physiotherapy twice weekly and personal training with Ger once a week. I cannot begin to relate the difference in my physical and emotional state. While I thought my life was heading towards a disability forcing me to use a wheelchair I am now working towards getting rid of one walking stick next year. The change to my body shape and muscle development is very obvious to anyone who knows me. None of this would have been achieved without Ger who kept me focused and driven. He gave me the tools needed to get to where I am today. Because I have personal training weekly I have a goal to work towards and any success I have made is down to Ger and his vast knowledge of the working of the body and its muscles. If there is anyone hesitant about using exercise to improve health I would suggest you sign up with Ger and be assured that you are in safe hands. The cost of the training course is offset against the other treatments you would have had to have prior to gym work. I cannot praise the course and Ger enough but anyone who doubts my testimonial only has to see the huge improvement in me to realise that I speak the truth.
Personal training is the only way to go for anyone wishing to get back to full health and mobility because it provides a secure and supervised environment thereby ensuring that you do not overexert muscles and that you adapt the right technique when using gym equipment. In that respect Ger is leading the field and his encouragement, determination and professionalism is second to none. I am and will be indebted to Ger for turning my life around and for giving me the wherewithal to regain confidence and the physical strength to overcome my disability. From where I am standing now the future looks good and that is down to him.
Don’t hesitate; give Ger and personal training a chance. I promise you that you won’t look back!
